Last June I received an eye-catching e-mail entitled ‘Be a full-time CISV Professional’. Instantly I put my drama dissertation to ones side and I opened it. CISV Sweden were looking to secure a grant with the European Voluntary Service (EVS) to support a volunteer working full-time for CISV.
8 months later I am sitting at the promised ‘super cool office in down-town Stockholm’ working closely with the Impact design group to bring to life the wonderful trainings that have been developed. Now, rather than guiltily answering e-mails between classes at the school where I worked as a Drama teacher, I sit proudly at my desk ‘working’ for CISV Sweden, CISV Great Britain, European Junior Branch and International Peoples Project Committee. It is amazing how productive you can be when this is what you are supposed to be doing.
For now I will focus on the coordination of the Impact Trainings. Later in the year I will look at how I can document and promote drama tools and methods that can be used within CISV to explore issues and ideas.
